  • HOMECOMING DANCE: Friday Sept. 27th 9:30- Midnighthere at GCHS in the Great Hall. Casual  dress/ follow dress code!! Next week dress up days as follows:
         *MONDAY 23rd - MASH/ Camo-Scrubs
         *TUESDAY 24th -   Beach/Jaws
         *WEDNESDAY 25th -  Animal House/Frat Boy, Sorority Girls, Toga
         *THURSDAY 26th - VSCO
         *FRIDAY 27th  - Class Colors: Fresh.-Grey/Soph.-White/Jr.-Blue/Seniors-Green
  • FFA Back to School Cookout on Friday 4:30-6:30pm at the School Farm For Dues Paid Members only

  • There will be a student council meeting TODAY Sept., 20 in room 208 during nest

  • Beta Induction is TODAY at 5:30pm in the gym with a small reception after. Dress is formal. Please RSVP to Ms. Lewis if you have not already.

  • Seniors, we are having a Voter Registration Drive Tuesday, Sept. 24th during NEST.  Don’t forget to bring your Drivers License and Social Security card to school with you on Tuesday!!
     

  • If you are planning to bring a non-GCHS student to homecoming, your guest MUST have a signed permission form by their principal.  These will be due on Wednesday, September 25th. These permission forms are located in the front office.

  • Drama club will meet after school on Thursday Sept. 26th in room 222. Anyone interested please come to the meeting. 

  • Tryouts for the winter play will be Thursday,October 3rd after school in the Media Arts Room on the 3rd floor. (Room they took class photos in)

  • Picture retakes will be October 23rd. This will also be Senior yearbook photos and retakes.

  • GUIDANCE

  • Great Crossing Counseling Office is excited to partner with Scott County Counselors as we offer parents the opportunity to receive information on FAFSA and Financial Aid for college. SCHS is hosting a Financial Aid-Parent University Night on Thursday, September 26th. It will be held at SCHS in the Auditorium from 6:00pm-8:00pm. A representative from KHEAA will be present to answer any of your financial aid questions. The first half of the night will focus on need to know information about financial aid, the FAFSA, deadlines and more. The second portion of the night, we welcome Senior families to create their FAFSA ID with the assistance of the KHEAA representative. The intended audience is 11th and 12th graders; however, all are invited to attend.Thank you to SC Counselor Meredith Schwindel for setting this up and opening this opportunity to our parents and students.

  • VEX Robotics Club is now taking applications.  See Mrs. Cosgrove or Mrs. VonBehren at ECS for an application deadline to apply is September the 20th.

  • Scott County Farm Bureau is hosting a Farm to Table Dinner on September 26th at 6:00p at Scott County Park. The meal ticket is $30 per person, and includes entertainment and a four course meal by Chef Kelly Stanley of Gray Arbor Farm.  All of the food and flowers are locally grown by producers in and around Scott County. Savannah Reeves, SCHS Student and Voice Contestant will be the live entertainment for the night! The proceeds of this dinner goes toward agriculture education in Scott county, and this fundraiser will help get Great Crossing FFA's students get to National Convention this year, as well as other FFA competitions and conferences this year.   •        SPORTS

  • Students Remember: THERE WILL BE NO BACKPACKS OR BALLS of any type  allowed at any football game. There is also NO
    food or drink allowed into the stadium.

  • Baseball :Warhawks Baseball Fall Workouts- We will be on a Tuesday/Thursday weekly schedule until Fall Break and I'll communicate more at a later date as to our  schedule after the break.The workouts will be from 6:30 - 8:30pm and will be held at the athletic complex at GCHS. We will meet in the school's back parking lot at 6:15pm.  Players only need to bring turf/tennis shoes and glove until further notice.It's time to Rock!  Our Pride & Tradition begins NOW!! #WarhawksBaseball If you have any questions, please contact Head Coach Greg Stratton @ gregory.stratton@scott.kyschools.us or 502.220.3327 or players can see Coach Stratton in room 328 during the school day. 

  •  Girl’s Basketball: Lady Warhawks basketball team will have open gym this week: Wednesday 6:00-7:15pm at GCHS and Thursday 4:00-5:15pm at GCHS

  • Great Crossing Wrestling If you are interested in accepting the challenge the staff would love to have you. We are currently having open mats every Monday and Wednesday at Scott County’s wrestling room until our room is completed. Please check the Facebook page or contact Coach Benner at: timmbenner@gmail.com for more information.  October 15, 2019 will be our first day of practice.

  • Boys Basketball : Open Gym : Wednesday 4-6pm, Thursday 6-8 and Sunday 5-7 at GCHS

  •  LAST Open Bowling night: TUESDAY Sept. 24th. @ Capital Bowl in Frankfort, KY. Cost: $5. Meet the coaches and team. If you plan on trying out you must have a sports physical. Tryouts will be October 1st: 6:30 pm @ Capital Bowl in Frankfort, KY. If you have any questions please contact the coaches: todd.miller@scott.kyschools.us or carl.goodpaster@scott.kyschools.us 

  • Softball open field is every Monday and Thursday 6-7:30 at Great Crossing Park while weather permits.
