  • HB 91
This week I am in 6th grade classrooms discussing HB 91.  I was in the Vision Community on Tuesday.  I will be in the Peace Community on Thursday.  Parents, I encourage you to ask your child(ren) what HB 91 means for us at RSMS.

We also discussed the 4 types of bullying, the 3 groups identified with bullying, and how to handle different situations.

Students, tell your parents what kind of tolerance we have for bullying at RSMS.

Email or call me with questions.

    Have a great week!

  • Individual Learning Plans

Individual Learning Plans (ILP’s) are mandated by the state of KY and help students plan for their future endeavors.  Students begin working on ILP’s in the 6th grade and continue to work on their ILP’s until they graduate from high school.  You can access your student’s ILP at www.careercruising.com/ILP.  Your student is given their password the first day they visit the computer lab.  These accounts are accessible to students even after they graduate as long as they do not allow the account to become dormant for longer than 5 years.  After 5 years of not being used, the account is then deleted.  Students are able to plan for future careers, create resumes, build lists of accomplishments and test scores, invite colleges to review their plans, and much more.  6th graders start with a basic interest inventory to help them begin looking at careers that match their interests.  In the 7th and 8th grade students will build upon what they have already created in 6th grade.  ILP’s are state wide and therefore follow students that transfer in and out of Royal Spring.

This tool is an amazing resource for our students.  Please ask your students about their ILP’s and access their account at home to view what they are working on for their future.  If you have questions please contact the Guidance Office for assistance.

Students will visit the computer lab on the following dates to work on their ILP’s.  Students that are absent or move into Royal Spring will be offered a make-up time after the holiday break.
