The Scott County Board of Education approved the minimum of a 1% raise for all employees of Scott County Schools at its March meeting. The raise was presented by Superintendent Dr. Kevin Hub as part of the district’s salary schedule for 2018-2019.
In an effort to recruit and retain a highly qualified pool of talented new teachers, the board provided a 2% raise for teachers with 0-3 years of experience this year and will provide the same for 2018-2019.
“We are pleased that the Board of Education approved our recommendation for next year’s salary schedule which includes the minimum of a 1% raise for all full time classified and certified staff,” Hub stated. “We are fortunate to have a staff that works hard to make great things happen for children every day.”
The salary increase will take effect on July 1, 2018. School-year employees will see the increase on their paychecks in August.
“As a board, we are happy to be in a position to provide a raise to our deserving employees,” commented Board Chair Kevin Kidwell.
