Allen Named DPP

Brent Allen

Brent Allen has been named Director of Pupil Personnel for Scott County Schools.  Allen has served as Principal at Western Elementary School since 2016.  Previously he was Dean of Students at Royal Spring Middle School where he also taught social studies.

“Brent Allen has proven himself to be an outstanding leader at Western Elementary School,” stated Ken Bicknell, Assistant Superintendent of Student Learning.  “He brings a wealth of skills and experience to his new role.”

“I am honored to serve as the next Director of Pupil Personnel for Scott County Schools and look forward to serving our community and students in this role,” stated Allen.  He will begin his tenure as Director of Pupil Personnel (DPP) on January 1, 2021.

As DPP, Allen will work to remove barriers to learning for all students in Scott County.  He will focus on attendance as he works closely with FRYSC staff, counselors, and school teams to identify students at risk of truancy and chronic absenteeism and provide support needed for students to be successful in school.

“Scott County is lucky to have such a hardworking, student-centered leader in the DPP position,” commented Nicole McCoy, Assistant Principal at Western.  “We will greatly miss his leadership and dedication to our students.”

Allen will miss the students, staff, and families at Western, too.  “Serving as Principal of Western Elementary has been a blessing beyond measure,” he reflected.

Colonel Allen serves as a Commander of the 2500th Military Intelligence Group of the United States Army Reserves.  Allen recently completed a Master of Strategic Studies from the US Army War College.  He is also enrolled in the educational leadership doctoral program at the University of the Cumberlands.

Allen received his Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Kentucky where he also earned a Master of Arts with initial certification in social studies.    He earned an Education Specialist degree and Rank I certification in educational leadership from Asbury University.

Brent and wife Julie live in Georgetown with their four children.
