Anne Mason students, parents and staff got back into the swing of things as school began Friday. With a first day enrollment of 684 students, AME led the district in elementary enrollment. To help with the influx of new students, the district has provided a comfortable learning cottage to help alleviate the growing population of AME's district.
District personnel visited our school and reported that it looked like we had been having school for much longer than one day because of the quiet hallways and productive classrooms, reported Mr. Bill, our head custodian. All the staff was amazed at how quickly students remembered "the Anne Mason way" of doing things. Even our new students seemed to fit in with those who have been here since the school opened five years ago. A fifth grade student was quick to point out that everyone looked great and was doing the right thing.
We couldn't be more pleased with the students, the parents and the volunteers that helped us make our first day back, an amazing beginning to an awesome new year. Mrs. Riney was in awe that the school year has gotten off to such a smooth start.
Congratulations AME for a great beginning!
