Staff Highlight: Mrs. Strom—In Mrs. Strom’s art class, students had to list 9 things which they felt they couldn’t live without. Surprisingly, the number one answer was music. After listing the items, she had them draw something which stood for the item. Students were challenged to draw what was in their minds, not necessarily what they could see.
Mentoring Program—Student Success Meet and Greet. If you drive by and notice a lot of police cars, EMS, deputies, fire personnel, we’re ok. In fact, we are GREAT. This week we will shared the state mandated suicide video. By law, http://education.ky.gov/school/sdfs/pages/suicide-prevention-and-awareness.aspx --Amends KRS 156.095 to require the Cabinet for Health and Family Services to post suicide prevention awareness and training information on its Web page by August 1, 2010; requires every public middle and high school administrator to disseminate suicide prevention awareness information to all middle and high school students by September 1, 2010, and September 1 of each year thereafter.
Mr. Cook, our counselor, and Ms. Rossi, our school psychologist, are always here to assist our students.
