Today's Topic: LME Updates

Dear Lemons Mill Elementary Family,

This is an exciting time for our school family. Over the last few weeks, staff members have been added, curriculum materials have been previewed, and building construction continues. Along with those updates, I would like to also announce that the Lemons Mill Elementary mascot has been selected.

As many of you know, the search to choose our school mascot began on April 23rd at the Meet and Greet held at Elkhorn Crossing School.  Throughout that night and over the last few weeks, numerous suggestions have been submitted.  The wait is over and we now have a face to help us celebrate school spirit.  We are the Lemons Mill Lions.

Parent volunteer, Terry Stevens, created our mascot image.  Terry is the father of incoming third grader, Sawyer Stevens.

We had a wonderful turnout for the Parent Volunteer Meeting on May 30th.  Several parents and staff members were in attendance and the Lemons Mill Parent Teacher Association was formed with a 100% vote in favor.  We currently have 44 members for the Lemons Mill PTA and officers for the 2013-2014 year are below.

President:  Gwen Robinson

Vice President of Programs:  Amy Clayburn

Vice President of Membership:  Tim Zwygart

Vice President of Fundraising:  Kristie Devers

Treasurer:  Christina Sergent

Secretary:  Selena Stevens

Several staff members were able to attend the Parent Volunteer Meeting on May 30th.

If you are interested in volunteering at Lemons Mill Elementary, you will need to have an approved parent volunteer application on file at the district level.  The application is good for three years and accepted at any Scott County School.  If you have applied within the previous three years at any Scott County School – you do not need to reapply for LME.  To find out more information regarding volunteering in Scott County and to find access to the Volunteer Application, please follow the link below

Becky Livesay, Administrative Assistant, will be serving as the LME Volunteer Coordinator.  You may drop off the completed volunteer forms at Central Office, send them via postal mail to 2168 Frankfort Rd., Georgetown, KY 40324 or send a scanned version to Becky Livesay at rebecca.livesay@scott.kyschools.us .  We look forward to working with you!
