Our boys, Jackie, Johnny, & Jimmy are very active at ECS, choir and sports, (football and track). Johnny was just elected Treasure of the NHS. We enjoy the extra time they spend at SCHS, it has helped them develop into fine young men. It is the programs that the school offers that has made our transition from home schooler on the road to the public education program.

My name is Amy Crowe. I have lived in Georgetown for 14 years. I have a son who is a junior at SCHS, Jaydon Crowe. I am a Toyota employee. I have worked there for 19 years. I would love the opportunity to be a member of SCHS parent SBDM. Thank you.
I would like to serve as a member of the SBDM because I believe in the importance of education, and parental involvement. As a mother, recent transplant to Scott County, former SBDM Council member at Lincoln County Middle School, and an employee of Partners for Education at Berea College, I have a vested interest in the success of our young citizens.
Hello, my name is Larry Edelen and I have 2 daughters, Emily Edelen and Olivia Edelen. Emily graduated from SCHS in 2012 and Olivia is finishing up her Sophomore year. My wife Jan and I adopted our two girls first traveling to Paraguay in 1994 and bringing home Emily and traveled again to Bolivia in 1998 and brought home Olivia. I am originally from Washington County and graduated from WCHS and St. Catherine College. We relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 1984 while working for the Campbell Soup Company and I retired in 2008 after 30 years of service as their Director of Retail Operations. I am also a member of the Campbell Soup Company Hall of Fame. My family moved back home to Georgetown, Kentucky in 2010 and I live in Ironworks Estate. Also, I am currently working part time as a Customer Business Manager and Consultant for Applegate, a Natural and Organic meat company. Thanks very much for your time and consideration.

I have spent most of my 52 years in a school system. 12 years as a student in Fayette County Public Schools, 4 years as an undergraduate student, 2 years as a graduate student, and 29 years as a teacher, (6 years with Fayette County Schools then 23 years with Scott County Schools). I currently have a 16 year old son in Scott County High School therefore am seeking a position on the SCHS Site Based Council. I am in the unique position to bring practical reasoning from the teacher and parent perspective. My years of teaching the middle school and the high school student has kept me in touch with this generation. I know I can help the Site Based Council make decisions that are best for all of our students.

Education is the most important variable in today's society. With an education, goals are achieved and dreams can come true. Being a member of the Site-Based Council, would give me the opportunity to see that SCHS is a place where all children are inspired to learn, achievement is expected and students become leaders. I am the mother of four children and the manager of Rack Room Shoes. My job requires me to be accountable and work well with others. I am a problem solver and sometimes a mediator. I offer my skills and service and I humbly ask for your support, thank you.
My husband and I have one student at SCHS, our son Chess. He will be a junior during the 2015-2016 school year. Our daughter, Carly, will be an 8th grader at SCMS. I have previously served two separate terms on the SBDM for Stamping Ground Elementary. I enjoyed working with staff and other parents, and being involved in this important school process.
I would like to be on the SBDM because I am interested in the process of how the decisions are made to give our SCHS students opportunities to achieve their goals. I have many hours volunteering in many schools with my own children. I believe I would be a good candidate for this SBDM Board.
I'm a lifelong citizen of Scott County and a 1996 graduate from Scott County High School. I've been a member of the Georgetown Fire Department since 2002. I give back to the community as a member of Kiwanis club where I am co-chair of the fair board. Being that I have children in school I have a vested interest in the improvement of our public education system.
As an college educator and parent of three children, I am compelled to be an advocate for all students. Serving last year on SBDM council for the high school has only emboldened me to seek election in the upcoming year. My goal in serving on the SBDM council is to make sure that the students are the center of any decisions that are made, as well as work in conjunction with the administrator, teachers, parents and school board members to assure that student achievement is the number one priority.

My wife and I are very involved in the JROTC program, this is one more way we can be involved. Growing up with a father being a Superintendent, spending time with your kids and being involved is very important. I look forward to working with the staff if chosen.
