Schedule Schedule Requests for 2018-19 School Year

Schedule Request Verification Forms were provided to students this week to double check the requests entered for scheduling next year. Parents and students can view schedule requests entered for the 18-19 school year in the Infinite Campus Portal until Monday, February 12, 2018 at 4:00 p.m.  Log in to Infinite Campus and click on the “Course Registration: 18-19 Scott County High School” tab under the student’s picture.  The courses listed are not the student’s actual schedule, but rather the requests submitted by the student.  If you want make a change, you must complete the Schedule Request Change Form printed on the back of the Schedule Request Verification Form students received in homeroom.  Extra copies are available in the Counseling Office if needed.  Change forms are due by end of the school day on Monday, February 12.  Only return the form if a change is needed.  After this date, changes to your requests or final schedule will not be permitted.  Please do not attempt to make changes in the IC portal as they will be deleted, your original request will be lost, and your final schedule will be affected.  Meet with or email your counselor if you have questions or concerns.

GSP Governor's Scholars Program Applications

The Governor’s Scholars Program is a stimulating, five-week, residential summer program for outstanding Kentucky students completing their junior year in high school.  The popular program provides academic and personal growth in a challenging, non-traditional environment that balances a strong liberal arts program with a full co-curricular and residential life experience.  To be eligible to apply and be selected as a Governor’s Scholar, a student must:

  • Be in the 11th grade at the time of selection and intend to return to a Kentucky school district for the next school term (students skipping their senior year to enter college are not eligible);
  • Be a current resident of Kentucky
  • Have taken the ACT, PSAT, or SAT in the 9th, 10th, or 11th grades.

The updated student application and the “Helpful Hints: Best Practices and Important Information” Packet can be found at gsp.ky.gov under the “Applicants” tab. Completed applications are due to the Guidance Office no later than Monday, December 4 @ 4:00 p.m.

FAFSA 2018-19 FAFSA

Seniors and parents of seniors:  The 2018-2019 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form will be available on October 1, 2017 for seniors and other graduates who are applying to start college next fall.  The FAFSA is an online form (www.fafsa.gov) that determines eligibility for federal, state, and college based financial aid including grants and student loans.  It is a time sensitive, first come – first served form that needs to be completed as soon as possible on or after October 1, 2017 so that you don’t lose out on money for which you may be eligible.  In the past, the form was available on January 1st, but if you wait until then to fill out the new form, then you will be too late.  Contact your school counselor if you have questions.

https://www.kheaa.com/pdf/pubs/fafsaChecklist.pdf provides a checklist to help you get started.
