The following is a joint statement from the Scott County School District and Georgetown Police Department.

Just after noon on August 20, 2014 we were informed of threatening phone calls pertaining to Scott County High School.  Together Georgetown Police Department and the Scott County School District investigated the situation.  According to this investigation, the unconfirmed threat was a prank.  All necessary precautions were taken in this matter.  It was quickly determined that students/staff were never in danger.  The Scott County School District and Georgetown Police Department work together closely to ensure the safety of students and staff.

The Scott County School District and Georgetown Police Department will continue to investigate to determine the source of the calls.  Scott County Schools would like to commend the efforts of Georgetown Police Department in their quick response to this matter.

Important Information

A threatening anonymous voice mail message was received at the Central Office of Scott County Schools.  School district personnel worked in collaboration with Georgetown Police Department and Scott County Sheriff’s Department to investigate.  The call was traced to a student.  At no time were students and/or staff members in danger.

The Scott County School District, Georgetown Police Department, and Scott County Sheriff’s Department respond together to ensure the safety of all students and staff.  We would like to express our appreciation to community law enforcement personnel.

Celebtating Scores! Celebrate Success

In an effort to celebrate test scores and ALL the amazing things we are doing at RSMS, the admin team has decided to reward all of the hard work of both students and staff!

Starting Monday, October 17, staff may wear jeans on Mondays for the remainder of the semester!  Additionally, students may "dress down" (joggers, sweatpants, shorts that pass the flamingo test) each Monday for the rest of the semester.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks,

Kerrie Katz

Principal
