My name is Theresa Pierce.  I am delighted to be your child's Kindergarten teacher.  Kindergarten is a time of new beginnings, of making friends, and of learning lots of new things each and every day.  This is my sixteenth year in Kindergarten.  Our days and weeks will be filled with many wonderful experiences and opportunities for learning and growing.
We will be learning all about letters and sounds, and words this year.  we will be doing lots of reading and writing activities, too.  The children are always proud of the stories and books they create and are anxious to share their new skills.  Families can help at home by encouraging them to write and draw.   We will also be learning all about numbers, building on important math concepts including: sorting, counting, classifying, patterns, money, measurement, addition, and subtraction.
Our commitment at Anne Mason Elementary is to quality.  We believe in quality work in the classroom.  We practice commitment to high standards and value goal setting in our classrooms and all areas of our life.
We want our school to have engaging teachers and students.  We strive to keep an atmosphere of community and valued learning.  Children learn best in an atmosphere where the teacher, parents, and student work together as a team.  We will expect your child to try their best every day, and enjoy school and learning.  My desire is that your child will enjoy coming to school every day.
Please feel free to call me at school if you have any questions or comments.  I want you to feel welcome at our school.  I am looking foreward to a wonderful year with you and your child.
I have been teaching for thirty years, and still love my job.  I have a BA from Anderson University, a MA from Geortown College, and Rank 1 from EKU.  I have a wonderful husband of 32 years, Tim.
He is a pastor of a church in Bourbon County.  My daughter, April, is a marketing manager of Ball/Milestone Homes.  She has a daughter, Lilly, who happens to be the most wonderful grandaughter a person could have.  My son, Joshua, is an assistant manager for a large car auction.  We love to antique, garden, read, hike, and go boating.  I'm looking foreward to meeting you and working with your child.  LET'S HAVE A GREAT YEAR!
