Greg Stepp, Director
Greg Stepp holds a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from The University of Kentucky. He also has attained National Board Certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. In his 31st year of teaching Instrumental Music, Mr. Stepp has taught in the LaRue county Schools, Western Hills High School/Bondurant Middle School in Franklin County, Glasgow Independent Schools, and is in his tenth year in the Scott County School System. His bands have consistently earned Distinguished Ratings and have been featured performance groups at The Kentucky Music Educators Association In-Service Conference.
Mr. Stepp joined the Kentucky Army National Guard in 1995 and served as an enlisted member until his appointment as Commander of the 202nd Army Band in December of 1997, currently holding the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4(P). He also serves as the Senior Army National Guard Bandmaster. He has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (3), the Army Achievement Medal, the Kentucky Merit Ribbon and the Kentucky Commendation Ribbon as well as the National Defense Service Medal and other service awards.
Mr. Stepp has been married to Lorri for 33 years. They have two sons: Aaron and Nathan and 2 grandchildren: Felix and Elsa.
