Welcome to Royal Spring Middle School and my online classroom. I am Paula Sennett and I am the 6th grade Peace Community math instructor. I graduated from Paul Blazer High School in Ashland, Kentucky. I then went on to attend Eastern Kentucky University where I received a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, and an elementary teaching certificate for grades 1-8. I received my master's degree from Georgetown College. I have 24 years of teaching experience. I began teaching computer programming classes for the first 3 years. I left teaching for a few years and worked for Toyota Manufacturing in the plastics department. Upon returning to my teaching career, I have been teaching in the 6th grade with most of my experience as a math instructor.
I live in Lexington with my husband and 3 daughters. My oldest daughter, Brittany, is attending Auburn University to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian. My second daughter Is a nurse in Galatin County. And my youngest daughter is a Sophomor at Eastern Kentucky University. I love spending time with these 3 remarkable young ladies, and will anxiously await each and every visit they get to make home. However, I am fortunate enough to get to have a whole community full of new children to spend time with each day, and I am so excited about this!
In my free time I enjoy supporting my children in their activities, I am learning to play golf, and I love to read a good book or watch a good movie. I especially love a good mystery! My favorite place to go on vacation is the beach! I love the sun and water and my favorite food is crab legs!! My dream is to some day move a little closer to an area where sea food is a little more plentiful!
I am looking forward to this upcoming school year and getting to know each 6th grader as they transition into a middle school student at our awesome school!! I hope you will feel welcome to contact me with any concerns or questions that you have throughout this school year. I know this is going to be an amazing year where great growth is going to occur for each student, and I welcome each of you into the Peace community.
