Lindsay Brawner King is in her sixteenth year in the Scott County school system where she has divided her time between the high school and Scott County Middle School. Mrs. King has assisted with the four high school bands, taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade bands and SCHS Jazz Band II, and helped manage the private lesson program. This is her first year as SCHS head band director, and she enjoys working with each of the 6th grade bands in the mornings before starting up the high school schedule in the afternoons. Prior to moving to Scott County, Mrs. King taught for three years in the Trigg and Calloway County school districts.

A graduate of Western Hills High School in Frankfort, Lindsay King received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Louisville in 1997, graduating with highest honors. She attended graduate school at The Florida State University where she worked with several ensembles as a graduate assistant while earning a Master of Music Education degree in 2001. Mrs. King is an active trumpet player; her teachers have included Tom Brawner, Vincent DiMartino, Amy Gilreath, Michael Tunnell, Jerome Amend, and Bryan Goff. Her professional memberships include KMEA, Phi Beta Mu, International Trumpet Guild, and Delta Omicron Music Fraternity. Mrs. King was awarded the Kentucky Music Educators Association Middle School Teacher of the Year for 2005-2006.

Lindsay and her husband Brent, a CPA and former band director, are the proud parents of fourteen-year-old Elizabeth, eleven-year-old Audrey, and three-year-old Evelyn.
