This class is designed to provide services to students who have been diagnosed with speech and language impairments. Speech therapy is provided using a quick speech program. This is a drill based program for students with speech sound (articulation) disorders. It involves seeing the student individually for 5 minutes Monday through Thursday on an alternating block schedule. The student drill practices the targeted sound(s) for 5 minutes and then a homework sheet is sent home to be completed and returned the next day. We have had great success with this program! Language therapy is conducted on an alternating day schedule (Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday). The students are seen for 30-minute group therapy sessions with the groups ranging anywhere from 2 to 5 students. Language groups concentrate on core language concepts relative to each student's need in the group. We have fun taking turns and learning together in our language groups!
