Members of the Alpha Delta Kappa (ADK) Upsilon Chapter recently awarded grants to teachers in Scott County. Among the 20 applicants, two were selected. Hayley Harris, a Speech Therapist from Scott County Preschool, received a $400 grant she will use to double the size of the school’s lending library. Started this year, the library provides books and activities to serve about 200 students.
Pat Price, music teacher and robotics coach for Stamping Ground Elementary School, received a $700 to purchase two Lego Mindstorm robot kits. At Stamping Ground, 12 students currently compete in the VEX IQ robotics program. The Lego version will strengthen programming skills for younger students.
