Scott County Schools Welcomes New Director of Student Services

Lynne Switzer has been named Director of Student Services for Scott County Schools.  Switzer comes to Scott County from Bourbon County Schools where she most recently held the positions of Director of Federal Programs and District Assessment Coordinator.  Her experience includes Assistant and Interim Principal of Bourbon County High School.  She has also served as an Instructional Supervisor and previously taught Business at Harrison County High School.

“We are thrilled to welcome Lynne Switzer to Scott County Schools.  She brings a great deal of experience and will fill a vital position for our district.  She is focused on meeting the needs of our students and we are excited to have her as part of our team,” stated Superintendent Patricia Putty.

A native of Bath County, Switzer earned a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Morehead University before earning a Master degree in Secondary Education from Georgetown College. She also earned a Master degree in Instructional Leadership and certification in Instructional Supervision from Eastern Kentucky University.

Switzer has experience with curriculum and instruction in addition to the administration of federal Title programs which often provide financial assistance for qualifying schools to meet student academic needs.  As Director of Student Services, Switzer will work closely with Family Resource and Youth Service Centers as well as district health providers.  In this role, she will facilitate important district initiatives like open enrollment and the school calendar.  Switzer replaces Director of Student Services Steve Hill who has recently taken a position with Fayette County Schools.

“I am excited to join the Scott County education community and look forward to serving students and families,” Switzer commented.  “My goal is to ensure that all students are able to access the high quality education provided by Scott County schools.”

Lynne Switzer and husband Robert have one daughter who is a law school student at Villanova University.  Switzer joins a district administrative team which includes new Assistant Superintendent for Student Learning Maurice Chappell and new Director of Maintenance Dwayne Ellison.
