    Attendance Announcement

***Reminder:  Personal and Out of town      reasons are unexcused

Student Success in school is directly tied to attendance.

If a student is absent from class, signs out early or is tardy missing any part of the school day he or she must provide a note from the parent/guardian. The student has five (5) days to turn the note in upon returning from the absence. Excuse notes are available beside the sign in/out sheet. No note results as an unexcused absence.

Only six (6) parent notes are allowed per school year. Doctor’s excuses do not count toward the six days of excused absences. Absences are ONLY excused for the following reasons.

  • Illness
  • Death or severe illness in the pupil’s immediate family. (days determined by circumstances)
  • Medical and Dental appointments will be excused only for the time required for the appointment, unless specified by the doctor.
  • Religious holidays and practices.
  • Court appearance when the student’s presence is required by subpoena or citation.

Parents can choose one of the following ways to turn their note in.

  • Student can hand deliver note to the front office

*Parent can email lori.wagoner@scott.kyschools.us *Parent may fax note to 502-863-7452

*** If your child needs any type of medication or cough drops at school, there is a form that needs to be filled out either just by the parent if it is an over the counter medication or by a parent and physician if it is a prescribed medication.  If it is an over the counter medication, please send an unopened bottle and the signed form and we can see that your child gets their medication as directed on the bottle, when needed.  If it is a prescribed medication, please bring in a form signed by the child’s physician and the medication needed for that child.  The form and the pharmacy label MUST match.  Please do not send any medication that is outside of its original container.  ALL mediation that is to be given at school MUST  be in its original bottle or package.

If your child is sent home for a fever, please be aware that the child can’t return to school until they are fever free (less than 100 degrees) for 24 hours without a fever reducer given.  Thanks!
