Principal's Message

Austin Haywood
Principal Ninth Grade

Introduction of 9th Grade School Administrators

Welcome to Scott County 9th Grade School!  We are so excited to start this year with you. Moving from middle to high school is a big deal!  One of the most exciting aspects of ninth grade is the new beginning for you and your student.

Over the next few days your students will be getting to know their teachers as teachers get to know their students.  So…..we didn't want to be left out!  The following is a snapshot of our administrative staff and our families.

Principal: Mr. Austin Haywood

I spent 7 years as a Business/Marketing teacher in Jessamine County, where I also coached football at East Jessamine High School.  I accepted my first position in administration at Montgomery County High School, where I served as an Assistant Principal for 3 years.  This is my first position as the principal of a school.  I earned my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Berea College and both my Masters and Specialist Degrees from UK.  I have two children, Merreck and Emerson.

I am so excited to be a part of the Scott County Schools family.  We have a unique opportunity at Scott County Ninth Grade to build bridges for students as they transition from SCS Middles Schools to Scott County High School.  We take pride in setting expectations that provide students the opportunity to become productive citizens with the Scott County community.

Austin Haywood

Assistant Principal Mr. Blake Konny:

Blake Konny is serving in his second year as assistant principal.  Konny and his wife Stephanie have three children: Micah, Juliet, and Penelope.  Blake taught in Chicago and North Carolina.  He served in administration in North Carolina and Woodford County before coming to Scott County.

Assistant Principal Blake Konny with his family.

We look forward to getting to know you and your students and helping them to become successful members of our community.  Don’t hesitate to contact any of us if we can be of service to you this year.
