Dear Lemons Mill Family,
As the Principal of Lemons Mill Elementary, I welcome you and your family. What a tremendous opportunity we share! Together we embark upon an exciting journey. I look forward to developing a great partnership with you and your child.
To help with arrival procedures, if you are dropping off your child, we ask that you use the parent pick-up/drop off circle located at the back of the building. I realize that this line is lengthy; however, it is crucial that you remain in this line for us to safely get your child into school as quickly as possible. Doors will open promptly at 7:15 am. Please make sure your child has his/her materials gathered and is ready to get out of the car quickly. Once you enter the circle drive, if your child is able to get out of the car independently, please allow him/her to do so. We will be able to unload seven cars at a time, so please be sure to fill the circle drive all the way to the first cone.
To help with dismissal procedures, if you are picking up your child, we ask that you use the parent pick-up/drop off circle located at the back of the building. Again, I realize this line is lengthy; however, it is crucial that you remain in this line for us to safely get your child to you in a timely manner. We are required to allow buses to exit before we release car riders. If you are directed to loop around to the office, please remain in your car. Do not park and attempt to pick-up your child from the front office as this will cause several safety issues. If you plan to pick-up your child at any point during the school year, please be sure to obtain a car rider tag from our front office prior to picking up your child. If you have a change in transportation (including a different person picking up your child), please be sure to notify the office in writing prior to 2:00 pm. As a school, we put the safety of your child first.
Beginning Monday, August 11th, students must enter the building either through the bus hallway (if riding a bus) or the parent pick-up/drop-off circle. I have staff members stationed throughout the building to ensure your child arrives safely to his/her class. Rest assured, we will make sure your child gets where he/she needs to go. This allows your child to exercise independence and increases our instructional time.
We appreciate your patience as we continue to determine the most efficient way to serve our LME Family. Thank you for your help in this matter.
