Today's Topic: Open House

Dear Lemons Mill Family,

Our school’s Open House is this Thursday, August 1st.  We will be scheduling this in two sessions.

  • Primary (Grades 1-2) – 5:30 – 6:30 PM
  • Intermediate (Grades 3-5) – 7:00 – 8:00 PM

Each session will begin promptly in the school gymnasium.  Please sit in the bleachers for this introductory meeting.  There will be greeters and signage directing you to this location.  Kindergarteners should have participated in the Kindergarten screening on 7/30 and 7/31, however, if by chance your incoming kindergarten student was not contacted, please contact us as soon as possible.

Families that live within the Lemons Mill Elementary attendance area but who have not yet registered with us will have an opportunity to do so at the Open House on Thursday, 8/1/13.

We are fortunate to be moving into a state of the art building; however, construction is still moving forward on Phase II (scheduled to open in August of 2014).  We currently do not have the overflow parking that we will eventually.  Therefore, we are dividing our open house into two groupings as mentioned above.  This will give us more opportunity for available parking for those families attending Open House night.

Expect to become familiar with the layout of LME, meet your child’s teacher and school administrative staff, along with dropping off school supplies in preparation for the first day.  For those families with children in both the Primary and Intermediate Village, you may participate in one, or both sessions.

I hope you are as excited as I am for the start of the 2013-2014 school year.  Our students will love their new school.  Indeed, it is their school.  The pillars of Lemons Mill Elementary which are Collaboration, Celebration and Communication, all work together to ensure your child’s learning.  The teachers and staff at LME are deeply passionate about Celebrating student success.  We strive to be the best at Collaborating with each other as educators, students and families.  In addition, Communication and ongoing feedback of their progress as learners will be important in the success of all of our students.

I look forward to meeting each of you Thursday, August 1st at either 5:30 or 7:00.  Our journey begins now!

Best Regards,

Lori Beth Mays, Principal
