We are trying something new this year. Our sophomores are working on a year-long project and will only be presenting in the spring. Many of our advisory members have told us that they wish they had the opportunity to work with the students as they are developing their projects to offer them suggestions and advice to improve their designs and final projects. Here is your opportunity:
You are invited to Elkhorn Crossing School’s First Ever Sophomore Exploration and Innovation Night for the Engineering Students!
When: Monday, November 12 and Tuesday, November 13
Where: Elkhorn Crossing School Presentation Labs
Time: 6:00-8:30 (We will provide dinner for our advisory members. Please arrive at 5:30 if you plan to eat.)
What: Advisory members will be seated at round tables and participate in short, informal discussions with groups of students as they pitch their project ideas (imagine speed dating for engineers). The students will be looking for feedback, suggestions, advice, and questions about their ideas.
Please help us make this night successful. If you are able to attend one or both of these nights, we would greatly appreciate your help. Just reply to firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know when you are available. If you would like to bring a friend with expertise in engineering, architecture, manufacturing, construction, etc., just let us know. This person can sit with you at your table and does not need to be on our advisory council. We look forward to hearing from you!
Also, we are having a project work day for both our sophomores and juniors during school on Monday, November 5. If you are available anytime between 9-11:30 or 12:30-3:30, we would love for you to stop by and assist our students. We know you all have busy schedules, but they love to have the advice of experts. If you are planning ahead, we only have three presentation nights this semester: December 3, 10, and 11. We will send out an email at a later date to ask for volunteers. Thank you for all that you do!
