Students may be finished with the 2007-08 school year and enjoying the summer sun, but the teachers are busy bees. Staff members are in and out of the building working on outcomes, team planning and creating new programs to encourage children to do their best in school. The staff has much to accomplish while the children are out for the summer.
Every team is meeting this summer to begin the planning process for the next school year. They are analyzing data from this year, analyzing our new science materials, finding new resources to utilize as well as beginning to write lesson plans for next year. They are looking at class lists and making plans for how to best create a family out of their new classes.
We are also in the middle of setting new goals for next year. Of course, we will not receive our test scores until the fall so we can not set a new CATS goal, but we can begin to look at what programs we would like to offer to our children to help with our new goals. We will have a Student of the Month program that recognizes students who read the required 20 minutes each night, practice good character, and always does quality work. Our goal is create an environment that encourages children to be complete children.
As you can see, we are working hard to make sure that 2008-09 is the best school year that we have ever had. We can’t wait until the children come back to us in the fall ready to learn. In the meantime, have lots of fun this summer, read lots of books, stay active and be safe.
Have a great summer!
