Bus #65 experienced a mechanical malfunction on the way to Eastern Elementary School this morning. Scott County Schools Department of Transportation believes that a hose burst in the bus cabin just behind the driver’s seat and is continuing to look into the situation. We are thankful for the quick response of emergency personnel and transportation employees who evacuated the bus immediately to ensure student safety. Principal Corrie Kemper was on scene with students. Two students were transported to the hospital by their parents. Another bus immediately arrived to take all other students to Eastern. Students are in class and continuing with their day as normal. Principal Kemper and her staff are making contact with parents of all students on bus #65 to inform them of this incident.
