The Scott County Board of Education conducted a work session on July 7, 2016. Members authorized Superintendent Dr. Kevin Hub to provide notice to cancel the agreement between Scott County Schools and Ross Sinclair and Associates. The board voted to issue a Request for Qualification (RFQ) for a new fiscal agent. Members also approved Southern States as the diesel and gasoline supplier for fiscal year 2017.
In other business, members discussed and then approved student fees for 2017-2018. Concerns were raised regarding the increase in student fees for clubs. Superintendent Hub advised that a comprehensive study of student fees in Scott County will take place in the coming months with results available for board review prior to the consideration of fees next year.
Members reviewed the job description of Driver Trainer. Superintendent Hub recommended that he and the board team take a closer look at job descriptions at a future work session. Members approved the job description of the Director of Transportation with changes as presented. The Director of Transportation is now required to have a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) upon hire. Billy Parker, Director of Facilities, will oversee Scott County Schools Transportation Department. The board next entered into Executive Session to discuss a matter related to litigation.
