Warfield has a student population of around 400, including the school’s Head Start program. Previously, Quillen served as Assistant Principal at Sheldon Clark High School and was both a math specialist and math interventionist in Martin County. He taught middle school math in Johnson County for 17 years with a total of 25 years in education.
Terry Quillen graduated from Pikeville College with a degree in education and certification to teach grades 5-8. He earned both his Masters and Rank I in Administration at Union College. He has served football coach and academic team coach with five state academic team championships to his credit.
The Martin County native is no stranger to Scott County and many people may find he has a familiar face. Quillen’s twin brother Jerry has raised his family here. Jerry Quillen spoke so highly of Garth as a parent that Terry applied only in Scott County and was thrilled to be named Principal at Garth.
“I look forward to becoming a part of the community, getting to know the staff at Garth, and making Scott County home,” Terry Quillen commented.
Terry and wife Rhonda have been married for 17 years. They have two children. Meet Principal Quillen at the Garth Elementary School Open House on Aug. 9, 2016.
