In a continuing effort toward creating a collaborative culture, please find a summary of the Scott County Board of Education special-called meeting on June 18, 2015. This is being forwarded to all employees and parents/community via e-communications. This is merely a summary and not to be perceived as official board minutes.
The June 18, 2015 meeting of the Scott County Board of Education was convened at 6:30pm at the Central Office located at the Great Crossing office complex. After the meeting was called to order, members of the board entered into executive session for purpose of the annual employee evaluation of Superintendent Patricia Putty. The open meeting was continued after the seven-hour executive session with the release of the following statement as written by the Scott County Board of Education and read by Board Chair Haley Conway:
“The Scott County Board of Education, based on evidence provided, feels that Superintendent Putty notably met standards in Organizational Management, Instructional Leadership, and Student Achievement and Learning.
In the standards of Leadership and District Culture and Curriculum Planning Development, adequate levels of performance were attained.
In the standards of Policy and Governance, Communications and Community Relations, Human Resources Management, and Values and Ethics of Leadership, the Board has identified major improvements are needed.
For the remainder of Superintendent Putty’s contract, the Scott County Board of Education, along with Mrs. Putty, will work collaboratively to ensure that the students, faculty, staff, and administration in our district will be treated with respect as they continue towards their educational goals.”
When asked for a statement following the Board meeting, Superintendent Putty said, “The real evidence of our success as a school district is continually documented by high performing schools, high quality instruction, and marked growth in student achievement. This is a true indicator of high quality leadership in our district.”
