The Northern Elementary School Site Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council is pleased to announce Rachelle Schjoll as the school’s new principal. Rachelle Schjoll is currently the principal of Paris Elementary School, where she has been since 2005. Prior to that, she was an elementary teacher for 14 years serving at both Eastern and Southern Elementary schools here in Scott County.
“I am beyond thrilled to return to Scott County and serve as principal of Northern Elementary,” Schjoll commented, “The staff, students, and families have created an amazing tradition for excellence in learning at NES. I look forward to joining their team and upholding the culture of high standards for quality learning.”
Schjoll earned a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Western Kentucky University, a Master of Science in elementary education from Old Dominion University, and an Education Specialist certification in Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership from The College of William and Mary.
“Rachelle brings a wealth of experience to her new role at Northern,” stated Superintendent Dr. Kevin Hub. “She also brings excitement and enthusiasm like that of a brand new principal. With Rachelle, we get the best of both.”
Members of the school council agree. “Ms. Schjoll brings valuable experience to the job and an enthusiasm for education that is a perfect match for Northern Elementary,” said parent representative Kristi Long.
Rachelle Schjoll and her husband Kirk, a Navy veteran employed at Toyota, have been married 26 years. The couple resides on a small farm in Harrison County. They have two children, Amberlyn (18) and Landon (13).
