In the event that we are not in school due to snow days, please have your child continue
with their daily reading practice, sight word practice and written homework. You may also
choose activities to reinforce our current outcomes or areas that your child needs additional
practice. Here are a few ideas for math practice: naming, counting and writing numbers to one hundred; skip counting by 5’s and 10’s and writing numbers by 5’s and 10’s; naming the days of
the week and the months of the year; counting money and telling time. In addition, please assist
your child with the following self help and personal skills: writing last name, giving parent's names,
naming address, naming birth date, and zipping coats.
1st Grade Parents…
If there is a snow day please make sure your child completes their math homework, studies any spelling words and reads. Reading material may include library books, take home books or RAZ kids. Don’t forget to fill out those reading logs!

~Complete both math and spelling homework. Practice spelling words.
~Science Fair Projects are due January 24th

~Begin working on our Diorama Project

Third Grade Families,
If we miss school due to snow, please have your child work on the following:
- “Snow Days Homework Packet” - There is one page of math homework and one page of reading comprehension practice for each snow day. These pages are labeled 1st Snow Day, 2nd Snow Day, etc.
- The regularly assigned homework from the weekly packet
- Read each night for 20 minutes
- Practice multiplication facts and division problems
- Practice spelling words
- If your child is participating in the Science Fair, his/her project is due January 24th
Homework will be due the day we return to school. For example, if we miss a Tuesday and Wednesday and return to school on Thursday, your child should complete and return two sheets from the “Snow Days Homework Packet”, the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night homework, and have reading titles written in planners.
