In a continuing effort toward creating a collaborative culture, please find a summary of the Scott County Board of Education meeting on May 28, 2015. The Scott County Board of Education convened on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 6:30pm at Georgetown Middle School. Members approved both minutes from the May 11, 2015 meeting as well as the school activity fund budgets for FY 2016. After questions pertaining to the title Principal/Director of the Intervention Program and new Program Review requirements for world language at all levels, the board approved the salary, pay date, and accounts payable schedule for FY 2016 with the exception of supplemental pay for coaches. At an upcoming board meeting, members will discuss pay for coaches as well as the implications for the athletic program at Great Crossing High School, scheduled to open in August 2017.
Director of Finance Randy Cutright presented the Tentative Budget for FY 2016. Board members were able to seek further information on all items presented including Support Education Excellence in Kentucky (SEEK) funding, expenditures, and projected tax revenue. Cutright also discussed capital outlay, contingency, average daily attendance (ADA), and projected growth. This is the second of three required budget meetings. The Tentative Budget was approved by the Scott County Board of Education. Action will be taken on the Working Budget in September 2015.
The Scott County Board of Education will convene a work session on June 4, 2015 at 6:30pm at Georgetown Middle School. Upcoming meeting dates include June 11, 2015 and June 18, 2015 both at Georgetown Middle School at 6:30pm.
