Dear Scott County High School Senior,
As you move into the final year of your high school career, congratulations are in order. I am proud of what you’ve achieved and look forward to celebrating this achievement with you through all the senior activities planned for year’s end. These activities include our Prom, Senior Awards night, Senior Day at Cardome, Senior breakfast, and the graduation commencement ceremony.
To promote a more rigorous and academically meaningful senior year, our SBDM council has set some expectations for your participation in these events. These include the following:
· Academic – to participate in any activities, seniors need to be on track to graduate
· Attendance – to participate in any activities, seniors must have no more than 6 unexcused
· absences for the year.
School policy allows students only 10 school days after an absence to bring in an excuse note. After that time, unresolved absences will be permanently recorded as unexcused.
These expectations were communicated at the beginning of the year in both principal announcements, video recorded messages to students, and through your English classes by principals. This letter is another attempt to ensure all are in-the-know.
I wish you success through the remainder of this year and look forward to joining you in May as we celebrate your accomplishments.
